A black Groq × Equinix partner cap from the Australia launch, with red Groq embroidery up front and the infrastructure partner on the back.

Groq gets the front. Equinix gets the back. This black partner cap tells its story in two views, with a red lightning-bolt mark and Groq wordmark on the crown, then red-and-white Equinix embroidery above the rear strap.

The launch behind the cap

On 17 November 2025, Groq announced its first Asia-Pacific infrastructure footprint: a deployment in Equinix’s Sydney data centre. The partnership brought Groq’s AI inference infrastructure closer to Australian customers, with local connectivity through Equinix Fabric and access to GroqCloud.

That makes the second logo more than a sponsor stamp. Groq provides the inference technology; Equinix provides the place and connections behind the Sydney deployment. The cap gives each its own side rather than squeezing a partnership slide onto the front panel.

Why it works

Black fabric and tonal stitching keep the six-panel shape quiet, while the raised red embroidery does the talking. The curved brim is familiar, and the rear fabric strap closes with a metal buckle rather than a plastic snap. From the front, it reads as a straightforward Groq cap. Turn it around and the launch-specific detail appears.

The back is busier, but that is the right place for it. White Equinix lettering gives the second logo enough contrast without making both brands compete in the same view.

A month later, the lore changed

On 24 December 2025, just over a month after the Sydney announcement, Groq announced a non-exclusive inference-technology licensing agreement with Nvidia. Founder Jonathan Ross, president Sunny Madra and other members of the team would join Nvidia to help scale the licensed technology.

That gives this cap its grail factor: it captures Groq’s Australian launch just before a major change in the company’s story. It is not merch from a vanished company or evidence of a buyout. Groq said it would remain independent, with Simon Edwards becoming CEO and GroqCloud continuing without interruption. The appeal is the moment this particular partner cap represents.

The no-cap take

Partner merch often tries to explain the whole deal at once. This one lets you turn your head. The Sydney launch gives it a specific moment; the black-and-red front gives it a life outside the event.
